Refrigeration technology before completion
A central issue is the modernization of the refrigeration system, which has repeatedly caused problems in recent years. There are now signs of a significant improvement: all three ice surfaces in Kagran should be fully usable again from autumn. The second hall, which has been closed for a long time, is also scheduled to be reactivated this year.
High demand among young talent
The expansion is no coincidence. The demand for ice time is enormous – so great that the Capitals recently even had to impose a freeze on admissions in the youth sector, as the “Kronen Zeitung” reports.
Positive development for the location
The investments show that Vienna is not only working on the future in terms of sport, but also structurally. More available ice time should create better training conditions in the future and meet the growing interest in ice hockey.
