The
Graz99ers and defenders
Different Koch go their separate ways. As has now become known, the Styrians have not exercised the contractual option of an extension with the 28-year-old Dane.
Injuries slowed Koch down
Koch played a total of 38 games in the ICEHL regular season last season and had a strong 19 scorer points (1 goal, 18 assists). However, the left-shooting defender had to miss ten games due to injury.
Particularly bitter: After an operation, the Dane was also out at the start of the playoffs and was only able to get back into the action later. Despite the difficult phase of the season, Koch showed strong performances in the postseason and collected four points in five appearances.
International experience as a plus
The 1.90 meter tall defender brought plenty of international experience with him to Graz. Before his involvement with the 99ers, Koch was under contract in Denmark for Aalborg Pirates and in Finland for Kiekko-Espoo. He also appeared several times for the Danish national team at world championships and Olympic qualifications.
Koch’s future is still open
It is currently unclear where the former Graz legionnaire will continue his career. However, due to his offensive qualities and his international experience, the defender should be of interest to several European clubs.
