After the 2025/26 season is over: The Kassel Huskies have announced that goalkeeper Brandon Maxwell will be leaving the club. This ends the collaboration with the experienced goalie, who has been one of the defining figures on the DEL2 team in recent years.
Strong support over several seasons
Maxwell, who once attracted attention as a crowd favorite at EC VSV, quickly became a fixture in Kassel. Since moving to Germany, the American native has impressed with consistently strong performances and has been a decisive factor in the Huskies’ game on several occasions.
Injury and upheaval as possible reasons
Last season, however, Maxwell was also slowed down by an injury that put him out of action. In the end, he only played one game in the entire season. At the same time, a personnel change seems to be brewing in Kassel, to which the experienced goalkeeper is now also falling victim.

With the separation, Brandon Maxwell becomes one of the most interesting names on the transfer market. The 35-year-old not only brings experience from the DEL2, but also from international leagues and could be an immediate reinforcement for numerous clubs.
