ICEHL return? – Austro keeper officially farewell!

After many years in Austria, Viennese Max Zimmermann took the plunge abroad last offseason. Now the goalkeeper is available again.

At the age of 26, the goalie can look back on appearances in the ICEHL and the AlpsHL. Having grown up with the Vienna Capitals, he moved to Pinzgau in 2021 and stood between the posts there until the end of the 2024/25 season. Zimmermann was also crowned champion with the EK Zeller Eisbären.

Jump abroad

After winning the title in the multinational Alps Hockey League, foreign countries came calling and Zimmermann answered. He signed with French first division club Gap, for whom he appeared in 17 games. Unfortunately he was only able to win two of them for the Ligue Magnus club, and the two sides parted ways in mid-December.

The left catcher moved to Denmark, where he played a total of six games for the Frederikshavn White Hawks. The two-time Danish champions parted ways with six players today, and Zimmermann will no longer be part of the squad in the future.

Return to Austria?

Now the keeper could return to the domestic league. As already reported, Zimmermann is expected to play in Vienna. The VSV was also interested!
