After initial indications suggested that veteran Mark Katic’s active career at VSV was coming to an end, there are now increasing signs that the defender will remain at the club – albeit in a new role.
As reported, a possible role as a skills coach was recently discussed. Now the discussions are becoming more concrete: This Tuesday, according to “5 Minutes,” there was an internal exchange between Katic and those responsible at the club in Villach about his future involvement.
The 36-year-old, who has been a mainstay of the “Adler” for years, will remain with the club even after his career ends. Working in the coaching team in particular seems to be a realistic option at the moment.
Katic himself can look back on a long and successful career – including stints in North America and numerous appearances for VSV in the past season. His experience and overview of the game could play an important role in the future, especially in the youth and training areas.
