National heavyweights collide in Everett

A Saturday night in Everett is the place to be as two of the top three teams in the country will meet at Angel of the Winds Arena.

The third ranked Kamloops Blazers, fresh off a Friday night win over Portland, are on the road to visit the nationally number two ranked Everett Silvertips in a battle between two of the best in the entire Canadian Hockey League.

The Blazers have won their last five games and 12 of their last 13. Meanwhile, Everett, coming off a 4-3 overtime loss in Victoria on Friday night, have gone 16-0-1-1 over their last 18 games.

Key stat: The Silvertips are one of the best in the league at home with a 7-0-0-1 record. On the other side, no team has more points on the road (or has played more games away from home) than the Kamloops Blazers. The Blazers are and incredible 11-2-0-0 on the road with a stunning .846 winning percentage.

Extras: The special teams match up is an interesting one tonight. Everett is 25.7% on the powerplay at home while the Blazers’ penalty kill is very good on the road at 88.4%. On the flip side, Kamloops is 23.2% with the man advantage on the road while the Everett penalty kill at home is just 78.6%.
