Friday, October 18th: Everett 5 Tri-City 1

Bryce Kindopp got things started with Everett’s third power-play goal in their last four chances over two games. Michal Gut added a marker just 1:16 later to make it 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Tri-City increased the pressure in the second period, but Dustin Wolf stopped 11 of Tri-City’s 12 shots. Sasha Mutala was the lone American to solve him in this game as he turned away 23-of-24 overall.

Dawson Butt scored his first of the season in the second to make it 3-1 after 40.

Goncalves notched his third goal in two games to make it 4-1, and then Kindopp put home his 10th of the season into Tri-City’s empty net for the 5-1 final.

Kindopp had three points and Goncalves, Fonstad, and Jacob Wright each had two. For Wright, those were his first two WHL assists.

Saturday, October 19th: Everett 2 Prince Albert 1 OT

This game went scoreless through the first 45 minutes of game time before Goncalves again found the net. This was his fourth goal in three games.

Everett could not put away Fonstad’s former team and the defending champions, though, as Ozzy Wiesblatt forced overtime, scoring a goal with just 14 seconds left.

Gut provided the heroics for Everett with his second goal in as many games for the OT win.

Wolf turned away 30-of-31 and now sports a WHL-best (among goalies who have played in more than four games) GAA and save percentage at 1.73 and .945 respectively.

Kindopp leads the WHL in goals with 10 and is second in points with 18 in 11 games.

Gut is tied for eighth in rookie scoring with seven points. He also has three game-winning goals which is the most in the WHL.

Fonstad notched two assists and now has 12, good for second in the WHL. He has 15 points overall.
