Daily Dose of the Dub: Chiefs get Ladyman to sign; Herron joins Broncos

Spokane brings in Ladyman

The Spokane Chiefs announced on Monday that they had signed 2001-born defenseman Mike Ladyman to a WHL education contract. The left-handed blueliner from Winnipeg, Manitoba was listed back in November of 2017 by the Chiefs after he did not sign with the Regina Pats. He was originally a fifth-round pick in 2016 by the Pats.

Ladyman played 60 games last for the Winnipeg Blues of the MJHL, tallying 23 points. He also played eight games this year, piling up one goal and eight assists for nine points.

The Chiefs stated that Ladyman will wear number 25 and should join the team in time for their game against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Tuesday evening.

Ladyman is the ninth d-man on the Spokane roster though Filip Kral has yet to play a game this year while trying to return from an upper-body injury.

Swift Current brings in Herron

The Swift Current Broncos have signed 17-year old d-man Austin Herron. Originally a third-round pick by Moose Jaw in the 2016 WHL Draft, Herron, began the 2018-19 campaign with the Surrey Eagles of the BCHL, where he potted one goal over eight games. He’ll join the Broncos in time for their B.C. road trip, which begins in Langley on Tuesday.
