Daily Dose of the Dub: 47 WHL players on latest NHL Central Scouting list; Pats add two forwards; More rumblings around Cranbrook

WHL has 12 more names on November’s list than October’s

NHL Central Scouting released their players to watch list on November 12th and there were quite a few changes from the list that came out in early October. This is not surprising as scouts get more viewings. Of the 14 players who made the list this time, but did not earlier in the season, four were first-year imports, who scouts did not get to see as much of prior to this rankings release.

The most notable change was the ranking of Medicine Hat Tigers import goalie Mads Sogaard. The netminder went all the way from being unranked to getting a “B” ranking. For the list, they rank from “A” to “C” with an “A” ranking being a player they think will go in the first round, “B” in the second or third and “C” in the fourth, fifth, or sixth rounds.

Conversely, Medicine Hat’s Josh Williams dropped down to being ranked as a “B” prospect from being an “A” prospect and Saskatoon’s Emil Malysjev dropped from “B” to “C”.

*= Rybinski is currently with the Medicine Hat Tigers but has requested a trade. He has not played since October 24th.

I have linked different draft profiles we have done on some of the players. These players have been highlighted.

Rumblings around Cranbrook

-An apparent announcement will be coming soon that looks to be related to the company Kootenay has helping them sell tickets being told to stop. The Kootenay ICE ownership has close ties to Winnipeg.

This will be something we will be following closely.

Regina adds Mitchell and Streu

-Makai Mitchell, a 2002-born defenseman from Fort Collins, Colorado was called up to make his debut Tuesday evening in Cranbrook.

-19-year-old Sebastian Streu was also picked up by the Pats in time to make his debut for his new team against his old team. He had a goal in the game, his first this year. The Pats now have 14 forwards and nine defensemen on the roster.
