NHL Draft rounds four and five – WHL round up

Joel Hofer (G) – Swift Current Broncos

Hofer was selected in the fourth round 107th overall to the St. Louis Blues. Hofer played in 19 games and had a 8-3-1-1 record. He recorded one shutout and a .914 save percentage to go with a 2.61 goals against average.

Hofer was the 70th Swift Current Broncos player drafted in the history of the NHL Draft.

Milos Roman (F) – Vancouver Giants

Roman was selected in the fourth round 122nd overall to the Calgary Flames. Roman played in 39 games and put up 10 goals and 22 assists. He added three goals and three assists in seven playoff games.

Roman was the 28th Vancouver Giants player drafted in the history of the NHL Draft.

Wyatte Wylie (D) – Everett Silvertips

Wylie was selected in the fifth round 127th overall to the Philadelphia Flyers. The defenseman played in all 72 games this season, scoring six times and adding 25 assists. On the way to the WHL final he scored two goals and added six assists in 22 games.

Wylie was the 22nd Everett Silvertips player drafted in the history of the NHL Draft. He was also the third taken in this draft. That is the first time the Silvertips have had three players taken since 2010.

Cole Fonstad (F) – Prince Albert Raiders

Fonstad was selected in the fifth round 128th overall to the Montreal Canadiens. Fonstad scored 21 goals and added 52 assists while playing in all 72 games for the Raiders. He added four goals and an assist in seven playoff games.

Fonstad was the 88th Prince Albert Raiders player drafted in the history of the NHL Draft.

Justin Almeida (F) – Moose Jaw Warriors

Almeida was selected in the fifth round 129th overall to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Almeida scored 43 goals and added 55 assists in 72 games for the Warriors this season. He added six goals and seven assists in 14 playoff games.

Almeida was the 73rd Moose Jaw Warriors player drafted in the history of the NHL Draft. He was also the second taken in this draft. The last time they had two players taken was in 2016.

Filip Kral (D) – Spokane Chiefs

Kral was selected in the fifth round 149th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs. Kral scored nine goals and added 26 assists in 54 games in his first WHL season. In five playoff games he had zero points.

Kral was the 74th Spokane Chiefs player drafted in the history of the NHL Draft. He was also the second taken in this draft. They had two taken in 2017 as well.

Vladislav Yeryomenko (D) – Calgary Hitmen

Yeryomenko was selected in the fifth round 151st overall to the Nashville Predators. Yeryomenko scored 13 goals and added 28 assists in his 63 games for the Hitmen this season.

Yeryomenko was the 57th Calgary Hitmen’s player drafted in the history of the NHL Draft. He was also the second taken in this draft. The last time they had multiple players taken was in 2016 when they had five taken.
