Hagel signs with the Chicago Blackhawks

While we have yet to hear official word from the Red Deer Rebels or the Chicago Blackhawks, Brandon Hagel has posted on his Instagram account that he has officially signed a contract with the Blackhawks.

This information was originally tweeted out by Wyatt Zieger who is from the Morinville area.

Brandon Hagel is in his fourth WHL season, playing 208 games. He has 74 goals and 131 assists.

This season for the Rebels, Brandon was named Assistant Captain and is third in league scoring with 12 goals and 16 assists. He was originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 2016 but was left unsigned. He did attend Montreal Canadiens camp this fall and ultimately was returned to Red Deer in time for the beginning of the regular season.
