11 WHL players invited to the NHL Draft Combine

Every year the NHL holds an NHL Draft Combine so that the 31 National Hockey League teams are able to gauge the upcoming draft class’ physical and mental ability. The combine has already begun in Buffalo, NY and continues through the public testing and interviews this weekend. Saturday is considered the biggest day of the entire combine.

This year Spokane and Red Deer led the way with two invitees a piece. Also represented in Buffalo are: Calgary, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Lethbridge, Everett, Vancouver and Prince Albert.

While it is an important weekend in some respects, there are players in the past who have not fared well at certain events in the combine and still gone on to be a highly regarded draft pick.
