The WHL has announced their 20-man roster for next month’s Canada vs Russia series. Headlining the team are first-round NHL picks Cody Glass and Ty Smith. Ian Scott and David Tendeck will be the goalies, and the team will have a handful of 2019 Draft-eligible players as well: Dylan Cozens, Kirby Dach, Nolan Foote and Bowen Byram.
Americans ink Ferguson
The Americans have signed U.S. prospect Ian Ferguson to a WHL Standard Player Agreement.

The Tri-City Americans have signed d-man Ian Ferguson to a to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. The 16-year-old Texas native put up 12 points over 36 games with Dallas U-16 last season, and was also invited to USA Hockey Select 15 Festival.
ROSTER MOVE: Forward Max Kryski ('00) has been released and has signed with the Trail Smoke Eaters in the BCHL.

The Prince George Cougars have released 2000-born forward Max Kryski. He put up a career-high eight goals last season, but went pointless in four games this year. He’ll join Trail of the BCHL.

Ex-Lethbridge Hurricanes goaltender and Swiss national Akira Schmid has joined the Corpus Christi Ice Rays of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). Lethbridge waived Schmid earlier this month, as they needed to trim their imports down to two. Schmid allowed an ugly seven goals on just 27 shots in his lone WHL appearance. The 6’5″ netminder was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round in last summer’s draft.
