Today’s Gameday Preview: Silvertips @ Chiefs (Spokane leads 3-1)

DUBNetwork Feature game of the night: Everett Silvertips @ Spokane Chiefs (Spokane leads 3-1) 7:05 PM PDT

In the lone game of the night the Everett Silvertips will look to stay alive while the Spokane Chiefs look for a berth in Round 3.

In a 2-3-2 series where Everett is set to be the road team for the final time in this series no matter what, it makes this game extra important for the Chiefs.

Connor Dewar (Chris Mast)

Connor Dewar was one of the reasons the Silvertips had some hope restored in a Game 4 win, as he scored two big goals and also added an assist in the 4-1 win.

Dewar is among the top scorers for his side in the playoffs with 10 points in eight playoff games.

When facing elimination the Everett Silvertips are a career 2-1 with that win in Game 4, something they look to continue tonight.

With a goal in Game 4, Chiefs forward Adam Beckman took the lead for rookie scoring with five goals and four assists for nine points in nine playoff games under his belt.

Something else to be weary of is the Spokane Chiefs power play which comes into tonight a whopping 10 goals on 20 opportunities, add it up and yes you get a 50% conversion rate.

That’s absolutely unheard of.

In Game 4, that power play only went one for three and that highlights a big key to the game for the ‘Tips who really need to stay out of the penalty box.

The third and eighth ranked goaltenders in terms of save percentage will need to continue to be at their best. Bailey Brkin with his .926 save percentage is third and has been the backbone of the Chiefs roster making timely saves and giving Spokane the chance to win every night. Dustin Wolf makes it look easy with his .915 save percentage for the Silvertips and always has Everett in contention.
