Today’s Gameday Preview: Monday November 12th, 2018

On a Monday night, there is only one game in the WHL as the Edmonton Oil Kings continue their road swing making a stop in Lethbridge for their Military Appreciation Night and for our DUBNetwork Game of the Night.

The Oil Kings (12-7-1-1) continue to play well and look to move their winning streak to three wins in a row, against the Hurricanes (8-5-2-2) who have points in eight of their last 10 games.

Edmonton is being carried by a big offence, and with the struggling goaltending of Klassen and Tetachuk, if Lethbridge lets their opposition have any quality scoring opportunities the score could get away from them quickly. Take it this way, in their last five games the Oil Kings have scored 23 goals. On the flip side Lethbridge has allowed 20 goals over their last five, and don’t have the same scoring punch as they did last season to counter that many goals against.

Trey Fix-Wolansky (Andy Devlin)

Trey Fix-Wolansky has been quite the story so far for the Oil Kings throughout his 162 game career with 185 points and counting. The leading scorer in the Western Hockey League right now, has to be one of the most underrated prospects for the Columbus Blue Jackets who snagged him in the seventh round last June. He’s been nothing but dynamite all season, and a very big part of his team’s success so far.

This is the second meeting of the season between the two teams, Edmonton took the first by a 6-3 score back on October 26th. Trey Fix-Wolansky had a goal and three assists while Jake Neighbours scored twice, including the eventual game winner and added an assists.
