Today’s Gameday Preview: Edmonton @ Calgary (Oil Kings lead series 3-0) and a couple more!

DUBNetwork Feature game of the night: Edmonton Oil Kings @ Calgary Hitmen (Oil Kings lead series 3-0) 7 PM MDT

The Edmonton Oil Kings have a chance to move onto the next round tonight in Calgary against the Hitmen.

A win for Edmonton would make them the first team to move onto Round 3 and would give them some possible extended rest as they would await the winner of the Raiders/Blades series to face in the Eastern Conference final.

Don’t expect the Hitmen to go down without putting up a fight though as two of the three games up to point have required extra time.

This series has been a lot tighter than the regular season series that the teams finished with.

Having Jake Kryski out with an injury for the first two games of the series surely put weight on the shoulders of others, something they just weren’t able to manage.

Mark Kastelic and Carson Focht have been doing their best trying to carry some of the load both leading the way with nine points for the Hitmen in this year’s playoff run.

But it just hasn’t been enough of an offensive punch to get past Dylan Myskiw in goal.

We’ll see tonight if the Hitmen can square dance with the Central Division winners with their playoff lives on the line.

The other games:

Prince Albert Raiders @ Saskatoon Blades (Raiders lead series 2-1)

  • The Saskatoon Blades shutout the Raiders 1-0 in front of a massive crowd at the Sasktel Centre in Saskatoon last night. They look to even the series before heading back to Prince Albert for Game 5.

Everett Silvertips @ Spokane Chiefs (Chiefs lead series 2-0)

  • The Spokane Chiefs have been rolling lately, they’ve won five games in a row counting back to the last series against Portland, and have no signs of turning around now in their home arena. Everett looking to get their feet back under them after falling 6-3 in Game 1, and 3-1 in Game 2.
