DUBNetwork Feature Game of the night: Hurricanes @ Raiders 7 PM CST

The stacked up Lethbridge Hurricanes navigate their way into Prince Albert tonight to take on the Raiders in their fourth meeting of the season. The Raiders are looking to stay undefeated in the season series against the Hurricanes. Oddly enough, last season between the teams as PA finished the season series 3-1-0-0 against Lethbridge.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes (32-18-5-5) roll into Raider nation tonight six points up on the Calgary Hitmen, but four points back of the Edmonton Oil Kings in the Central Division standings. With a 5-3-1-1 record in their last ten games, the ‘Canes are fresh off a loss against the Saskatoon Blades that ended a three game winning streak. The ‘Cane train looks to keep rolling towards the playoffs as they proved last year, any team can be dangerous in what is a brand new season that starts in the spring. Right now the team has more points than they finished with in 72 games last season, but sit in the same spot in the standings.

Jake Elmer (photo-Lethbridge Hurricanes)

Jake Elmer continued his individual dominance last night in the 6-4 loss to Saskatoon getting himself a goal, and an assist. The overager has been a big heart and soul player for his team all season long, and having been around with the Hurricanes last season, Elmer holds playoff experience that could eventually prove handy. The Calgary native is having a career season as he’s blown away his point totals from the three previous seasons in the dub. Elmer comes into tonight with 32 goals, and 33 assists, and also a big part of the leadership core in Lethbridge.

The Prince Albert Raiders (49-8-1-2) have steadied their ship and continue to stay at the top of the WHL. Having just eclipsed the century mark in points in a single season, the team has already etched its way into Raider history. Having just clinched the Eastern Division for the first time since 1998-99, the Raiders are primed to be one of the best to ever don the Raider crest. The Raiders put their near perfect record at home on the line again tonight as they’ve only fallen four times in regulation at the Art Hauser Centre.

Parker Kelly

Parker Kelly maybe not a household name for fans in the Western Hockey League, but just having met the 30 goal mark on this campaign, he’s surely a big part of the Raiders depth offensively. With a point tonight, Kelly would match his point total from last season with 59.

Expected goalies:

  • Carl Tetachuk (LETH) 3.063 GAA, .903 SV%- Allowed five goals in a loss to Saskatoon last night.
  • Ian Scott (PA) 1.839 GAA, .933 SV%- Has won his last five starts in net for the Raiders.
