Ladyman wraps up ICE training camp

The Winnipeg ICE officially have their eyes on the preseason after they wrapped up their training camp with the Showcase Game last night.

In the end, it was Winnipeg native Mike Ladyman that gave his hometown fans something to cheer about.

He scored 3:33 into the first overtime to give Team White a 4-3 win over Team Black.

Now let’s take a look at the complete game summary.

It took Team White 15:30 to open up the scoring when Ladyman and Carson Lambos picked up assists on a goal scored by 2018 6th round pick Ethan Sundar.

That was the only scoring until there was 11:12 remaining in the second. That’s when young sensation Matt Savoie tied up the game for Team Black.

Team Black kept it coming to end the period. Austin Schellenberg scored with just 28 seconds left on the clock to give Black a 2-1 lead heading into the third period.

This time, it was Team White that struck two straight. Recent second-round CHL Import selection, Nino Kinder tied the game up with 16:13 left in the third. Just about nine minutes later with 7:18 left, Michael Milne gave Team White a 3-2 lead. Milne’s goal was unassisted while he picked up an assist on Kinder’s goal to begin the period.

Trailing 3-2 late, desperation was setting in for Team Black and they capitalized when they had the chance to do so.
