-Rookie forward Eric Alarie and overage defenseman Carson Sass came back for Moose Jaw. Sass last played on January 11th.
Three stars of the night:
- Mark Kastelic (Calgary) – 4 goals and an assist for the overage forward. He paved the way for a huge 8-1 Calgary win over the Regina Pats.
- Matthew Wedman (Kelowna) – Talk about a return to the lineup. He had a hat trick as his Rockets flew past the Tri-City Americans 8-3.
- Pavel Novak (Kelowna) – One goal and four assists for the WHL’s other five point night.
Honorable mentions:
–Kyle Olson (Calgary) had two goals and two assists for four points… Kyle Topping (Kelowna) had a goal and three assists for four points… Peyton Krebs (Winnipeg) and Dawson Barteaux (Winnipeg) each had three assist nights in the ICE’s 8-3 victory in Swift Current… Ridly Greig (Brandon) and Conner Gutenberg (Brandon) each put up four points in the Wheat Kings 5-1 win over Saskatoon… Trent Miner (Vancouver) turned away 23-of-24 in the Giants 4-1 victory over Red Deer… Brock Gould (Moose Jaw) stopped 57-of-59 as the Warriors grabbed one point in their 2-1 OT loss in Spokane.
Troubling moment:
-Olson had four points but also instigated a fight with under five minutes left. He was handed a game misconduct for his actions and may hear from the league.
