Lockhart signs extension with Kunlun Red Star
Luke Lockhart (345GP, 75G, 90A with Seattle ’07-’13) has signed an extension with the Kunlun Red Star of the KHL. It will be the defenseman’s fourth season with the organization. Last season the Burnaby, BC native scored 13 goals and added three assists in 60 games.

Following a season in North America with the Carolina Thunderbirds of the FPHL, Patrik Polivka (96GP, 56-28-7, 2.92 GAA, .904sv% with Victoria ’12-’14) has returned to the Czech Republic, signing with SHC Klatovy of the Czech3 league.

James Bettauer (212GP, 27G, 61A with Chilliwack, Prince Albert, and Medicine Hat ’08-’12) has returned to Germany after signing with the Ravensburg Towerstars of the DEL2. Last season Bettauer played for the Sheffield Steelers of the EIHL scoring four goals and adding three assists in 27 contests.

Waltteri Hopponen (1GP, 0G, 0A with Everett ’13-’14) earned a contract with TUTO Hockey of Finland’s Mestis league. TUTO will be his third team in the Mestis league following stints with LeKi, Espoo United, and Peliiat. Last season Hopponen played for Kiekko-Espoo of the Suomi-Sarja league in Finland but managed just three games. He scored once and added six assists for Kiekko-Espoo.
Kjemhus signs with Vernon Vipers of the BCHL
Following a season in which he had two assists in 31 games with the Saskatoon Blades, Kjell Kjemhus (110GP, 5G, 7A with Regina, Prince George, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon ’16-’20) has signed with the Vipers to play in the BCHL this season.
