The Saskatoon Blades have acquired forward Gary Haden from the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for forward Logan Christensen. Haden asked for a trade back on Oct. 11. He enjoyed a breakout season last year, posting 42 points over 70 games but has just three points so far this season. Christensen was having a down couple seasons, as his career high in points was back in 2016-17 (27). He’ll reportedly join his new team for this weekend’s games.

The Medicine Hat Tigers have recalled 15-year-old forward Cole Sillinger for Friday’s game in Regina, where he’s set to make his WHL debut. Sillinger was the 11th overall pick in the 2018 WHL Draft, and is the son of longtime NHL’er Mike Sillinger. He ranked fourth in scoring in the CSSBHL last season with 83 points.

Ex-Calgary Hitmen netminder Matthew Armitage has joined the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL. Armitage appeared in 20 games over the last two season with Calgary, posting a 4-8 record. He was reassigned by the Hitmen back on Oct. 4.

On Thursday, the Kootenay Ice Green Bay Committee, a “group that promotes the team and encourages businesses to purchase season tickets“, held a discussion, along with Cranbrook mayor Lee Pratt, to discuss the future of the franchise in the city. The biggest takeaway is that current ticket sales are lagging, and with a recent report that the team may move to Winnipeg as soon as 2019-20, the future of the club in Cranbrook is murky at best.
