Parik makes his return to Chiefs lineup

Lukas Parik made his return to the Spokane Chiefs lineup in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Everett Silvertips. He made 21 saves on 25 shots in his first game since October 5th.

Silvertips use 10 forwards due to Patterson absence

Max Patterson did not suit up for the Everett Silvertips in an overtime win over the Spokane Chiefs. Tyson Phare and Cole Fonstad were also absent due to injury leaving the Silvertips with just 10 healthy forwards.

McDonald sits out vs. Hitmen 

Edmonton Oil Kings defenseman Conner McDonald was held out of Sunday’s game against the Calgary Hitmen and is considered day-to-day. McDonald’s absence didn’t stop the Oil Kings from picking up the two points and you can read all about in Freddy Mayer’s game recap here.

Klassen returns to SMHL’s Mintos

Fresh off making his WHL debut, Gabe Klassen has been released from the Portland Winterhawks active roster to return to the Prince Albert Mintos of the SMJHL where he has recorded nine goals and seven assists in 10 games.

Torzsok traded to Merritt in BCHL

Hunor Torzsok (37 GP, 1 G, 3 A with the Vancouver Giants) has been traded from the Estevan Bruins in the SJHL to the Merrit Centennials of the BCHL. He had not yet registered a point with the Bruins this season. Torzsok did attend training camp with the Moose Jaw Warriors this season but did not make the team.

World U-17 Challenge Update 

Sweden defeated Finland on day two of the World U-17 Challenge with a 6-4 victory on the back of a hat-trick Fabian Lysell and a four-goal second-period performance. Sweden returns to the ice on Monday against Canada Red.

In the other game on Sunday, the Americans trumped the Czech Republic with a 10-1 victory. It was a true team effort with 18 of 20 skaters hitting the scoresheet with at least one point.

Getzlaf plays 1000th NHL game

Ryan Getzalf (233 GP, 95 G, 120 A with the Calgary Hitmen) played in his 1000th NHL game on Sunday night in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Drafted in the first round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Getzlaf has played his entire game in Anaheim scoring 268 goals and adding 666 assists.

Giants alumni suspended for two games 

Milan Lucic (133 GP, 39 G, 48 A with the Vancouver Giants) has been suspended for two games for roughing Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kole Sherwood. In 16 games with the Calgary Flames this season, Lucic has three assists.

Three Stars of the Night

First Star: Everett’s Bryce Kindopp had two goals including the OT game-winner on a penalty shot in a 4-3 win over Spokane

Second Star: Kamloops’ Connor Zary continued his hot start with two goals as the Blazers edged the Portland Winterhawks 6-5.

Third Star: On the losing side, Portland’s Seth Jarvis had two goals and an assist.

Vancouver’s Trent Miner made 33 saves on 35 shots in a 5-2 win over Medicine Hat while Everett’s Dustin Wolf made 37 saves on 40 shots.
