Seattle Thunderbirds forward Noah Philp has been named WHL Player of the Week after recording four goals and four assists in that span. The 20-year-old has 34 points in 25 games this year and is a veteran of 228 WHL games between Kootenay and Seattle putting up 125 points.

Saskatoon Blades goalie Nolan Maier took home WHL Goaltender of the Week, allowing just five goals on 81 shots (.938 SV%) and a 1.65 GAA and going 3-0-0-0. Maier is 21-8-4-0 to go with a 2.74 GAA and a .908 SV%.
Trades start picking up

The first deal saw Victoria send ‘00 Tyler Lees to Swift Current for a conditional ninth round in 2021. This season he has one goal and two assists in 27 games with the Royals. Lees was acquired from Saskatoon this past summer for a conditional seventh round pick in 2019.

Cyle McNabb found himself on the move for the second time in three days after being traded to the Saskatoon Blades, with Kootenay receiving ‘00 Brandon Machado and a fifth round pick in 2021. McNabb was acquired by the ICE this past Friday from Vancouver in exchange for ‘98 Dallas Hines. The 18-year-old has four points in 37 games including one assist in three games with Kootenay.

Lambos reassigned
The ICE have reassigned '03-born defenceman @Carsonlamb7 to RHA Midget Prep.

The Kootenay ICE reassigned ‘03 Carson Lambos to the Rink Hockey Academy Prep team. In his week with the team, he appeared in three games going pointless with two penalty minutes. The 2018 second overall pick has 17 points in 12 games with RHA.
Tri-City makes roster move
’99 forward Isaac Johnson is no longer on the Tri-City Americans roster. He has 32 points in 31 games this season.

TSN’s Craig Button came out with his January rankings list of 75 players leading up to the NHL Entry Draft.
Of the 75 players, 11 of them are products of the WHL. Three of those 11 made it into the top 10 including Lethbridge’s Dylan Cozens (fourth), Saskatoon’s Kirby Dach (eighth), and Vancouver’s Bowen Byram (tenth).
