Daily Dose of the Dub: Leason and Raiders keep streaks alive; Lockner leads Tigers comeback

Three stars of the night:

  1. Brett Leason (Prince Albert) – The streak is alive for the WHL’s leading scorer as he had a goal and an assist for three points and extended his point-streak to 24 games. He has a point in every game the Raiders have played this season, which is the best since the WHL has made available (1996-97 season). His Raiders also set a franchise record winning streak at 16 games. P.A. went to 23-1 with a 5-1 dismantling of the Kootenay ICE.
  2. Bryan Lockner (Medicine Hat) – Two goals and an assist for three points as the Tigers came back from 2-0 down to fly past the Red Deer Rebels 7-3.
  3. Connor Dewar (Everett) – Two goals against the visiting Kelowna Rockets gives him 20 this season. Everett slipped by the Rockets 2-1.

Honorable mentions:

Max Gerlach had a goal and an assist for the Saskatoon Blades as they won on the road in Prince George 4-1… Luke Toporowski had a goal and an assist and Jake McGrew returned to the lineup for the Spokane Chiefs in their 3-1 victory over the Kamloops Blazers… Isaac Johnson capped off a Tri-City Americans comeback as they went into the third period down 2-0 and rebounded for a 3-2 shootout win. Johnson had an assist and the shootout winner… Davis Koch and Milos Roman each had a goal and an assist for the Vancouver Giants and they slid past the Victoria Royals 4-1… Max Patterson had a goal and an assist for the Swift Current Broncos as they edged the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 and nabbed their fourth win this season… Brayden Tracey had an assist and the overtime winner for the Moose Jaw Warriors. They slipped by the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-2… Reece Newkirk had a goal and an assist and the Portland Winterhawks hung on against the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-3.

Troubling moment:

Gianni Fairbrother was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for a high hit on Kelowna’s Kyle Crosbie.
