Krebs returns to WHL
Peyton Krebs has been cleared by the surgeon who performed the surgery and reassigned by the Vegas Golden Knights to the Winnipeg ICE. He is expected to be in the line-up on Sunday in Portland and will play his first game in Winnipeg November 30 against the Brandon Wheat Kings

Peyton Krebs has been reassigned to the Winnipeg ICE by the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights. He had been with the Golden Knights as part of his rehabilitation process after he was injured in an off-season training process. Krebs will serve a one-game suspension on Saturday which was handed to him for a checking from behind penalty in Kootenay’s final game last season. His season debut will come on Sunday against the Portland Winterhawks.

The SJHL’s Yorkton Terriers have signed twin brothers Kaeden Taphorn and Keenan Taphorn. The brothers had been with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the WHL but left the team for undisclosed reasons. This resulted in the brothers being suspended by the Warriors and the WHL from playing hockey in any league. There’s no word on if the suspension has been lifted by the WHL. In 176 WHL games, Kaeden Taphorn has 15 goals and 20 assists while brother Keenan has recorded 30 goals and 31 assists in 206 WHL games.
Kiviniemi signs in Finland
Joona Kiviniemi (Swift Current, 2018-2020) signed contract for the rest of this season with KeuPa HT Keuruu (Finland, Mestis). This season with Swift Current, 15 GP, 6+4.

McDonald takes leave of absence from Oil Kings

The Edmonton Oil Kings announced on Friday that 1999-born defenseman Conner McDonald has taken a leave of absence from the club to attend to a family matter. McDonald, who hasn’t played since November 1st, has two goals and six assists in 15 games this season.

In 73 WHL games with the Kootenay ICE, Seattle Thunderbirds and Prince Albert Raiders, Schaufler has 10 assists. He joined the Saints earlier this season after being released by the Raiders. In 16 games, he has five goals and eight assists.

The Calgary Hitmen have recalled Zac Funk from the Okanagan Rockets of the BCMML as they get set to head out on a five-game road trip. In 10 games with Okanagan, he’s notched seven goals and three assists. He’s also played four games with the Hitmen this season but has yet to register a point.
