Seth Jarvis (130GP, 58G, 81A with Portland) has signed his entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. Jarvis was the 13th overall selection at the 2020 NHL Draft. Jarvis saw a major improvement between 2018-19 and 2019-20, moving from 39 points to 98.

Ethan Bear (264GP, 66G, 126A with Seattle ’12-’17) has re-signed with the Edmonton Oilers. 2019-20 was Bear’s first full season with the NHL club, he scored five times and added 16 assists over 71 games. The Regina, SK product won an Ed Chynoweth Cup with the Thunderbirds in 2016-17.

Jermaine Loewen (295GP, 78G, 64A with Kamloops ’14-’19) has co-written ‘Ari’s Awful Day‘ with Thom Van Dycke. The story is about a Jamaican orphan who grew up in Manitoba, similar to his own personal situation. Last season, Loewen spent split between the Chicago Wolves (AHL) and Fort Wayne Komets (ECHL).

Kevin Connauton (69GP, 24G, 48A with Vancouver ’09-’10) has signed a professional try-out with the Florida Panthers. Connauton was originally a 2009 third-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks but made his NHL debut with the Dallas Stars in 2013-14. He has since played for five NHL teams, amassing 314 games, 27 goals, and 49 assists.

Mike Aviani (273GP, 89G, 118A with Spokane) has been released from his contract with UTE of the Erste Liga. He had one goal over two games with the team. The Facebook post says that the contract was terminated by mutual agreement and the team goes on to wish him a successful recovery. It was Aviani’s fourth season abroad following three seasons split between the AHL and ECHL.
Doetzel signs for another season with Americans
Kayle Doetzel (292GP, 5G, 49A with Red Deer ’11-’16) has signed for a second season with the Allen Americans (ECHL). Last season Doetzel scored twice and added eight assists over 57 games with the team. It is his fifth professional season following five seasons with the Rebels.

Tanner Jeannot (267GP, 77G, 93A with Moose Jaw ’14-’18) has been recalled by the Nashville Predators from the Florida Everblades (ECHL). At the time of his recall to the NHL club, Jeannot was second in scoring in the ECHL with six points in five games. Last season with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL, Jeannot scored five goals and added 15 assists in 57 games.

Paulsson is no stranger to European hockey, playing in his 17th season with various clubs throughout Switzerland, Sweden, and Finland. He has also won two Elitserien championships and a Davos Cup (NLA).

Brett Stovin (263GP, 68G, 58A with Saskatoon ’10-’15) has signed with HK Spisska Nova Ves of Slovakia2. Last season in his first full professional season, Stovin played with the Dundee Stars of the EIHL, scoring eight goals and adding 15 assists over 44 games. Stovin completed four seasons at the University of Manitoba following his WHL career.
