Lukas Svejkovsky of the Medicine Hat Tigers is the inaugural winner of the Memorial eCup after a convincing two games to zero victory over Saint John Sea Dogs Riley Bezeau. Svejkovsky scored 10 times in the opening game of the three-game series, making the final 10-0. The second game was much closer but Svejkovsky fended off Bezeau to win 4-1 and the Memorial eCup presented by Kia.
Warriors make two trades
TRADE: Warriors acquire 20-year-old forward Riley Krane (LW) from Regina for a conditional 7th round pick in 2023.
In 2019-20, Krane had 16-16-32pts in 61 games.

Riley Krane (129GP, 29G, 28A with Regina) has been dealt to the Moose Jaw Warriors by the Regina Pats in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick at the 2023 WHL U15 Draft. The Dawson Creek, BC native is entering his overage season in the WHL.
Also announced was the trade of 19-year-old defenceman Cayde Augustine (86GP, 4G, 12A with Kelowna and Moose Jaw) to the Swift Current Broncos. In return, the Warriors received a conditional eighth-round pick at the 2020 WHL U15 Draft.

The Spokane Chiefs announced the release of two overage players yesterday afternoon. Michael King (251GP, 26G, 35A with Kootenay and Spokane) and Jame Porter Jr. (82GP, 38-24-9, 3.12GAA, .900sv% with Kelowna and Spokane) are now free to join any team they wish. They may also head to either of the other Canadian Hockey League teams should there be any interest in signing there.

Jayden Perron, a 2020 WHL U15 second-round selection by the Portland Winterhawks, has signed a tender with the Chicago Steel of the USHL. Perron began his season with the Winnipeg Bruins U18 AAA team, scoring three times and adding three assists in four games. Perron will look to begin to play in Chicago for the 2021-22 season.

As has been hotly debated in WHL circles for a number of years, the WHL commissioner suggested that the league may be considering changing the draft age in a discussion with Jason Gregor. What we do know is that the league will be changing the name of the draft as the use of terms such as midget and bantam are no longer the norm. Connor Ingram (158GP, 81-50-18, 2.68GAA, .918sv% with Kamloops) has been cleared of any wrongdoing in an investigation regarding match-fixing in Sweden. Ingram was the goalie of record in a game that his team (Bjorkloven) lost 8-4. There was a glitch in the betting service used that saw a drastic change regarding betting. The media outlet that ran the story issued a formal apology to the team following the investigation.
