9 WHL players and 2 prospects named to Czech U20 national team roster

With the economies of European nations opening up at a faster rate than many other regions, hockey has begun to take shape as well. The Czech national team has selected nine WHL roster players for a three-game set against Slovakia in late July. Krutil (Kelowna) and Svozil (Regina) were selected by their teams in the 2020 CHL Import Draft and have yet to sign.

Trevor Cox heads overseas

Following four seasons with the U of A Golden Bears, Trevor Cox (324GP, 98G, 207A with Medicine Hat & Vancouver) has signed a contract to play overseas with HC Detva of Slovakia. Last season Cox had seven goals and 15 assists for the Golden Bears.

Eight alumni commit to U of Calgary Dinos

Arjun Atwal (45GP, 0G, 5A with Saskatoon), Luke Coleman (297GP, 63G, 78A with Prince Albert & Calgary), Connor Gutenberg (312GP, 68G, 116A, with Brandon), Dakota Krebs (308GP, 13G, 49A with Tri-City & Calgary), Max Patterson (320GP, 46G, 70A with Kootenay, Swift Current, Everett & Seattle), Matthew Quigley (227GP, 5G, 50A with Portland), Ryan Schoettler (258GP, 16G, 83A with Prince George), and Zach Wytinck (221GP, 18G, 96A with Brandon & Regina) have all committed to play for the University of Calgary Dinos in 2020-21.

Low re-signs with ECHL’s Reading Royals

Following a successful 18 goal and 20 assist season with the Reading Royals (Philadelphia Flyers ECHL affiliate) Brayden Low has re-signed with the team. Low (187GP, 26G, 31A with Portland & Everett) has played five professional seasons, the Royals are his fourth ECHL team. He has also played for the CBR Brave of the EIHL in Australia.
