The Buffalo Sabres have signed Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Dylan Cozens to his entry-level contract. Selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Sabres, Cozens played 68 games with the Hurricanes last season and had 34 goals and 50 assists. He is currently recovering from a thumb injury sustained at Sabres development camp and is expected to be out of action for 2-3 months.

The Ottawa Senators have signed Kelowna Rockets defenseman Lassi Thomson to his entry-level contract. Thomson was the 20th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and is coming off a season in which he posted 17 goals and 24 assists in 63 games. Our Glen Erickson has the full story here.

The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed import forward Oliver Okuliar to his WHL Player agreement. Okuliar joins the Hurricanes from the QMJHL’s Sherbrooke Phoenix where he played 66 games garnering 14 goals and 28 assists last season. He was selected by the Hurricanes in the first round of the 2019 CHL Import Draft.

The Spokane Chiefs have announced the schedule for their 2019 Training Camp which kicks off on August 22. Training camp will last four days with the rosters being trimmed prior to the annual “Red Vs. White game” which will take place on August 25th.

Prince Albert City Council has approved the purchase of a new score clock for Art Hauser Centre, which plays host to the Prince Albert Raiders. The Raiders plan to have the new score clock in place in time for opening night against the Saskatoon Blades on September 20th.

The Florida Panthers have re-signed Jayce Hawryluk (232 GP, 119 G, 159 A with the Brandon Wheat Kings) to a one-year contract. Selected in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Panthers, Hawryluk has played 42 games with Florida registering seven goals and five assists.

The Arizona Coyotes have re-signed Dysin Mayo (248 GP, 28 G, 106 A with the Edmonton Oil Kings) to a one-year extension. The Coyotes originally selected Mayo in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft but he has yet to suit up for the team, spending the majority of his career in the AHL with the Tucson Roadrunners.
