The Spokane Chiefs have signed defenseman Chase Friedt-Mohr to a WHL Education Contract. The 2003-born blueliner was drafted by the Chiefs in the fifth round of the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft. He’s captaining the SMHL’s Prince Albert Mintos this season and has seven goals and 18 assists through 26 games.

The Winnipeg ICE have recalled Logan Danis from the MJHL’s Winnipeg Blues. Danis started the year with the ICE playing in 15 games with one goal and two assists before being sent to the Blues. With the Blues, he’s played five games notching three goals and three assists.

The Prince Albert Raiders have issued a warning to fans through a letter in the “Prince Albert Raider Talk” Facebook group. The letter says the club has recently experienced complaints of inappropriate behaviour from some members of the fan base including foul language and threatening behaviour. The team says any reported incidents will be met with a verbal warning with any recurring incidents resulting in immediate expulsion from the arena.

Everett is once again at the top of the rankings among WHL clubs coming in at the #4 spot. Prince Albert is close behind in at #6 while Portland has leapfrogged Medicine Hat into the #8 spot. Medicine Hat remains in the #9 spot and Edmonton has earned honourable mention.

Canada defeated the USports All-Star team 4-3 on Wednesday evening in a World Juniors pre-tournament game. Kelowna’s Nolan Foote and Vancouver’s Bowen Byram each recorded a goal while Brandon’s Braden Schneider and Winnipeg’s Peyton Krebs potted assists. Portland’s Joel Hofer made 13 saves on 15 shots in 32 minutes of action.

The Moose Jaw Warriors have announced that Harlan Anderson, Chris Armstrong, and Lorne Humphries will be inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame.
Anderson played with the Warriors from 1999-2003 suiting up for 258 games and tallying 32 goals and 107 assists. In his final season with the Warriors, he was named the 19th captain in franchise history. Armstrong was a Warrior from the 1991-92 season until 1994-1995 playing in 240 games with 41 goals and 151 assists. He ranks third all-time in defenseman scoring for the Warriors. Meanwhile, Humphries was known for his off-ice contributions as part of the group responsible for bringing the Warriors to Moose Jaw.
