Spokane Chiefs BC Bantam scout Dan Cioffi has been named head coach of the BCHL’s Coquitlam Express. Cioffi has been with the Chiefs for one season and is not unfamiliar to the Express having been an associate coach from 2007 to 2010.

Edmonton Oil Kings forward Dylan Guenther has been named this year’s Rookie of the Year in the Eastern Conference. In 58 games he had 26 goals and 33 assists this season.

In the Western Conference, Blazers fans are doing the “Stanky Leg” to celebrate Logan Stankoven being named the Western Conference Rookie of the Year. The hometown kid had 29 goals and 19 assists in 59 games this season.

The other award announced by the Raiders on Thursday was the Best Conditioned Raider and this year Evan Herman has received the award.

For only the fourth time in Hitmen history, a player has taken home the Player of the Year award in back-to-back seasons as Mark Kastelic is once again the Player of the Year. Kastelic, who is off to the Ottawa Senators organization next season, registered 38 goals and 30 assists in 58 games this season.

Fresh off a contract with the AHL’s Stockton Heat, Koletrane Wilson has been named the Top Defenseman of the Lethbridge Hurricanes. He posted eight goals and 25 assists in 62 games this season.

Over on Vancouver Island, Mitchell Prowse has been named the Victoria Royals’ Top Defenseman with three goals and 30 assists in 64 games this season.

The Medicine Hat Tigers named Daniel Baker and Corson Hopwo co-winners of this year’s Most Improved Player award. From an offensive standpoint, Baker saw his stats jump from two goals and 15 assists in 68 games in 2018-19 to 13 goals and 25 assists in 63 games in 2019-20. Hopwo saw a similar jump from six goals and 11 assists in 59 games in 2018-19 to 15 goals and 26 assists in 26 games in 2019-20.

David Musil (254 GP, 28 G, 87 A with the Vancouver Giants and Edmonton Oil Kings from 2009-13) has signed a one-year contract extension with Trinec in the Czech Republic. The former second-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers had one goal and 11 assists in 48 games this season.
