As we reported would happen, the Spokane Chiefs have officially signed 2019 first round import selection Lukas Parik. A six-foot-four 185 goaltender from Neratovic, Czech Republic, Paric was selected in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. Last season with Bili Tygri Liberec U19, he played 32 games, posting a 2.85 GAA and .917 save percentage. Parik will battle overage netminders Bailey Brkin and Reece Klassen as well as 17-year old Campbell Arnold. With Parik officially signed, don’t be surprised if the Chiefs look to move out one of those overage goalies.

A day after signing his Prince Albert Raiders teammate Aliaksei Protas, the Washington Capitals have signed overage forward Brett Leason to his entry-level contract. Selected in the second round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Leason should turn pro next season in the Capitals organization. He was originally drafted in the third round of the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft by the Tri-City Americans and has played 190 WHL games with the Americans and Raiders, with 60 goals and 80 assists. Most recently, he was named to the WHL Eastern Conference First All-Star Team and took home the WHL Championship with the Raiders.
The Raiders had nine players on their playoff roster who would be considered overage players next season but Brian Harris (University of Manitoba), Leason, Parker Kelly (Ottawa Senators), Sergei Sapego (Toronto Marlies) and Ian Scott (Toronto Maple Leafs) are likely going to move on from the organization.
