Pats acquire Chorney from Broncos for McGinley

The Regina Pats have acquired forward Carter Chorney from the Swift Current Broncos for defenseman Sam McGinley. He’s played 120 games in the WHL with the Chiefs and Broncos and has notched 17 goals and 16 assists. Novak suspended eight games

Kelowna Rockets forward Pavel Novak has been suspended for eight games for checking Kamloops Blazers forward Kyrell Sopotyk from behind. His suspension will kick in this Saturday when the two clubs face-off in a rematch. He’ll be eligible to return on December 10th against the Brandon Wheat Kings. However, as pointed out by Larry Fisher of The Hockey Writers, Novak may have already reported to the Czech Republic for training camp ahead of the 2020 World Junior Hockey Championship by that point so we may not see him back in the Rockets lineup until the new year.
