The Kamloops Blazers have recalled Ethan Brandwood for their games this weekend. The 16-year-old was in the lineup Friday for his second WHL game in the Blazers’ 3-0 win over Spokane. He has 18 points in 25 games as the captain of the South Island Royals of the BCMML.

The Regina Pats reassigned 17-year-old Carter Woodside to the Prince Albert Mintos of the SMHL. The move is to make room for Max Paddock to return to the lineup after being out since January 5th with an illness. Paddock dressed in the Pats’ 4-0 win over Brandon but served as back up.

Red Deer Rebels defenceman Ryan Gottfried scored his first career WHL goal in a 5-3 loss to Medicine Hat on Friday. The 17-year-old has skated in 29 games with the Rebels and has seven points and six penalty minutes.

Dean McNabb stopped all 30 shots he faced for his first career shutout in the WHL. The 18-year-old improves to a 5-14-1-0 record with a 4.42 GAA and a .868 save percentage.

The eighth overall pick from this past bantam draft got into his first WHL game Friday night. Zack Stringer saw action in the Hurricanes’ 4-3 win over Seattle, collecting two shots on goal. The homegrown talent has 36 points in 26 games with the Lethbridge Midget AAA Hurricanes this season.

Prince George Cougars captain Josh Curtis skated in his 200th WHL game in the Cougars’ 4-1 loss to Calgary. The overage forward has played parts of four seasons with Prince George, recording 86 career points.
