The Tri-City Americans have signed forward Ben Stokes to a Standard WHL Player Agreement. The fifth-round pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft is the third player from that draft to sign with the Americans. To read more about the newest Americans prospect click here. 

Wolf named WHL Goaltender of the Year

Everett Silvertips goaltender Dustin Wolf has been named the WHL Goaltender of the year for the 2020-21 season. It’s the fourth time in the last five seasons that an Everett Silvertips goalie has won the award after Prince Albert Raiders goalie Ian Scott broke the streak last season. Wolf is a prospect of the NHL’s Calgary Flames and posted a 34-10-2-0 record with a 1.88 GAA and a .935 save percentage with nine shutouts, leading the WHL in GAA, SV% and Shutouts.

Cougars to host Hockey Hot Stove

The Prince George Cougars will be hosting a Hockey Hot Stove on June 17th featuring co-owner Eric Brewer, GM and Head Coach Mark Lamb, Associate Coach Jason Smith and Director of Scouting Bob Simmonds.  Fans will be able to submit questions on the Cougars website until June 12th.

Pats team store to re-open

The Regina Pats Team Store at the Brandt Centre will be opening on a restricted basis and customers will only be allowed to shop in the store by appointment only.

Warm commits to McGill

Will Warm (207 GP, 13 G, 41 A with the Edmonton Oil Kings and Victoria Royals from 2016-20) has a commitment to play with McGill’s Men’s Hockey Team in 2020-21. Warm was the WHL’s Humanitarian of the Year in 2018-19.

Brkin commits to Ryerson

Bailey Brkin (89 GP, 3.40 GAA, .898 Save Percentage, 44-32-4-2 record with five shutouts from 2016-20 with the Swift Current Broncos, Kootenay ICE, Spokane Chiefs, and Moose Jaw Warriors) has committed to Ryerson University in Ontario for the 2020-21 season.

Zborovsky signs extension in Russia

Sergei Zborovsky (198 GP, 18 G, 66 A with the Regina Pats from 2014-17) has signed a two-year extension with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the KHL. Last season, the blueliner recorded two goals and three assists in 41 games.
