Russia releases WJC camp roster

Red Deer Rebels d-man Alexander Alexeyev has been named to the Russian selection camp for the upcoming WJC. The Washington Capitals first-round prospect also participated in the CHL Canada/Russia series for his country in two games against Team WHL last month. Also on Team Russia is former Saskatoon Blades defenseman Mark Rubinchik.

WJC coming back to Western Canada

Hockey Canada is set to announce the host cities for the 2021 WJC: Edmonton and Red Deer. The tournament returns to Edmonton for the first time since 2012, where Canada won the bronze medal, and Red Deer for the first time since 1995, when Canada won gold.

Team BC announces U16 roster

Three Stars of the Night:

  1. Trey Fix-Wolansky (Edmonton) – Opened the scoring for Edmonton and added three more assists in his team’s 6-1 win over Regina.
  2. Nolan Foote (Kelowna) – Registered a goal and an assist, and added the shootout winner in the Rockets’ 4-3 victory over the Americans.
  3. Dylan Cozens (Lethbridge) – Buried the game-winning goal in overtime to help the Hurricanes edge the ICE 3-2. The goal is his 15th of the season.
