Red Deer Rebels defenseman and Washington Capital’s prospect Alexander Alexeyev has avoided serious injury following Tuesday’s awkward hit from the Blazers’ Zane Franklin, who avoided discipline from the league. After leaving the game he underwent an X-Ray and CAT scan which both turned out negative, he is now listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury and is possible to return Friday. The Russian first round pick has seven goals and 24 assists for 31 points in 29 games this season.
Anderson-Dolan with Team Canada

Spokane’s Jaret Anderson-Dolan skated for the first time at Canadian selection camp on Tuesday in Victoria, not skating with the team. Anderson-Dolan underwent surgery for a broken bone in his wrist in November and has been out ever since. It will be interesting to see if he gets into game action for Team Canada as he would definitely be one of the team’s top players in the tournament. He has two goals in two games with Spokane this year.
