Daily Dose of the Dub: Ashe signs with Lethbridge; Maier and Myskiw stand tall

Lethbridge signs Ashe:

2002-born defenseman Dylan Ashe from Warman, Saskatchewan was signed by the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Wednesday. Ashe played 31 regular season games for the Tisdale Trojans, putting up eight points and had six assists in seven playoff games.

Ashe and the Trojans won the SMHL and are currently preparing to play in the Telus Cup for the Midget AAA National Championship.

Ashe was a list player for the Hurricanes.

Former Brandon Wheat Kings goalie Thompson signed:

1997-born goalie Logan Thompson signed a Professional Try Out (PTO) with the AHL’s Binghamton Devils this week. The former Brandon Wheat Kings netminder suited up this last season for Brock University in USports and eight games in the ECHL for the Adirondack Thunder.

He posted a 2.72 GAA and 0.918 save percentage with the Thunder. Thompson finished his season with Brock before joining Adirondack on March 2nd.

  1. Nolan Maier (Saskatoon) – The 2001-born goalie was under siege much of the night, but he held off the Prince Albert Raiders to the tune of 43 saves on 44 shots in Saskatoon’s 4-1 win over the Raiders. The Blades and Raiders are now tied at two games apiece in the series.
  2. Dylan Myskiw (Edmonton) – The Oil Kings goalie stopped all 18 shots he faced for a 6-0 shutout victory in Game 4. The Oil Kings swept the Hitmen in four games.
  3. Max Gerlach (Saskatoon) – He had a goal and two assists for three points to lead the way offensively for the Blades.

Spokane goalie Bailey Brkin stopped 29-of-30 as the Chiefs beat Everett 3-1 and took a 3-0 series lead… Adam Beckman had two points for the Chiefs, while Quinn Benjafield, Jake Neighbours and Andrew Fyten added two apiece as well for Edmonton.
