Winnipeg ICE sign 2019 first overall pick Matthew Savoie

The Winnipeg ICE have signed 2019 first overall Bantam Draft pick Matthew Savoie to a standard player agreement.

Savoie was denied exceptional status earlier this year by Hockey Canada meaning he can only play five games in the 2019-20 season until his midget season with Northern Alberta X-Treme Prep of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) is complete.

Savoie is the third player from the 2019 draft class the newly relocated franchise has been able to sign.
