Rockets team activities suspended
As a result of a positive test result for COVID-19, the WHL has announced the suspension of team activities for the Kelowna Rockets.

Due to a positive COVID-19 test result among a member of its team staff, the WHL announced the suspension of team activities for the Kelowna Rockets. The WHL is working with the BC Health Authority on the matter. As a result, last night’s game between the Rockets and the Kamloops Blazers was postponed. It is the second straight meeting between the teams that has been postponed, last season the WHL shut down the season as the teams were going to meet.
Raiders sign Peekeekoot
NEWS: The Raiders have signed 2004-born forward Dallyn Peekeekoot to a WHL Standard Player Agreement!
He will make his WHL debut this afternoon against Brandon as he has cleared SHA and WHL protocols.

The Prince Albert Raiders announced they had signed 2004-born forward Dallyn Peekeekoot before their afternoon game with the Brandon Wheat Kings. A resident of Ahtahkakoop First Nation, SK, Peekeekoot was a 10th round pick of the Raiders from the 2019 WHL Draft and wore #26 in his first game last night. Peekeekoot had played five games with the Prince Albert Mintos U18 AAA team this season and scored a goal and added an assist.
Cougars loan Kohner to Chiefs

The Spokane Chiefs announced that they had been loaned Mitchell Kohner by the Prince George Cougars. The 19-year-old Rosemont, MN forward was having difficulties getting into Canada to play for the Cougars and they agreed to the loan to help their player develop and get the Chiefs some injury relief. Kohner played in 59 games with the Cougars last season, scoring eight goals and adding six assists.
Ernst out indefinitely
The Rockets will be without forward Ethan Ernst, he is listed as out indefinitely after undergoing successful surgery to repair a scaphoid fracture.

Following a scaphoid fracture, the Kelowna Rockets announced that Ethan Ernst (121GP, 7G, 18A) had undergone successful surgery to repair the injury. He will be out indefinitely. The 19-year-old Ernst had just begun his third season with the Rockets.
Hayes signs with Golden Knights, Glass assigned to Silver Knights

Defenceman Zack Hayes (272GP, 15G, 64A with Prince Albert ’15-’20) has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Vegas Golden Knights. Hayes had been playing this season with the Henderson Silver Knights, and through 17 games he had one goal and three assists. Hayes was not drafted into the NHL and was a ninth-round pick of the Raiders in the 2014 WHL Draft. Hayes won an Ed Chynoweth Cup with the Raiders in the 2018-19 season.
Forward Cody Glass (239GP, 94G, 198A with Portland ’14-’19) has been assigned to the Henderson Silver Knights by the Vegas Golden Knights. With Vegas this season Glass has scored four times and assisted on six others in 25 games. Glass is a former first-round pick of the Golden Knights at the 2017 NHL Draft.

Forward Ryan White (275GP, 91G, 146A with Calgary ’04-’08) has signed with the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL. The 33-year-old White had not played this season professionally after playing two seasons with the Manitoba Moose. White is a former third-round 2006 draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens and played in 313 NHL games with four different teams.

Forward Kristian Ferletak (31GP, 0G, 1A with Victoria and Swift Current ’14-’15) has not had his contract renewed by Kiruna IF of HockeyEttan in Sweden. Ferletak scored 11 goals and added seven assists in 34 games with Kiruna IF, they were his second team in the league, he played with Malungs IF in the 2019-20 season.
Beach extended by Black Dragons Erfurt

Forward Kyle Beach (251GP, 134G, 139A with Everett and Lethbridge ’05-’09) has been extended by the Germany3 league’s Black Dragons Erfurt. Beach played in 60 games with the team in the 2020-21 season and registered 31 goals and 29 assists. The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Beach in the first round of the 2008 NHL Draft.
