Daily Dose of the DUB: Hitmen sign prospect, players head back from AHL and more

 

Hitmen sign Palfreyman

Defenseman Owen Palfreyman has been signed to a WHL Standard Player Agreement by the Calgary Hitmen. The 17-year-old Palfreyman spent last season with the Cariboo Cougars U18 AAA program where he collected one goal and added 10 assists in 37 games. Palfreyman was a listed player of the Hitmen.

DUBNetwork to make major announcement on Rod Pedersen show

DUBNetwork will be making a major announcement today on the Rod Pedersen Show at 11:00 am mountain time. The show is available on the Game+ Network with your cable provider, as well as on Facebook Live and YouTube. Paul Figler will join Darren Dupont and Rod Pedersen to discuss the WHL’s divisional hubs as well as the announcement.

Trio of players returned to WHL

Foward Jack Finley (131GP, 28G, 49A) has been reassigned to the Spokane Chiefs following two games with the Syracuse Crunch. Finley is a second-round pick at the 2020 NHL Draft of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Also returned to his team is forward Gage Goncalves (128GP, 34G, 52A), following one game with the Crunch, where Goncalves collected an assist. Goncalves is a signed second-round 2020 NHL Draft pick of the Lightning. Goncalves will return to the Everett Silvertips.

Jaydon Dureau (134GP, 31G, 68A) was released from his amateur tryout. He saw action in just one game. Dureau is a signed fifth-round 2020 NHL draft pick of the Lightning. He will return to the Portland Winterhawks.

Skeoch signs with Fuel

Defenseman Darian Skeoch (145GP, 4G, 19A with Lethbridge and Vancouver ’15-’18) has been signed by the ECHL’s Indy Fuel. Skeoch spent the last two seasons with Carleton University, collecting five goals and eight assists in 47 games.

Habscheid’s brother passes away

The Prince Albert Raiders announced that head coach Marc Habscheid’s brother Robert passed away over the weekend. Habscheid is expected to miss some time while away from the club to attend to family arrangements. DUBNetwork sends its condolences to the entire Habscheid family.
