Daily Dose of the DUB: Alumni moves, Red Wings reassign players and more

 

Leier head to Adler Mannheim

Forward Taylor Leier (198GP, 77G, 101A with Portland ’11-’14) has moved on from HC Ocelari Trinec (Czech) and joined Adler Mannheim (DEL). With Ocelari, Leier scored one goal and added four assists in 10 games. Leier was a fourth-round pick of the Philadelphia Flyers in 2012, he was also a member of the Ed Chynoweth Cup Champion Portland Winterhawks in the 2012-13 season.

Red Wings reassign two WHL alumni

Both Michael Rassmussen (161GP, 81G, 76A with Tri-City ’14-’18) and Dennis Cholowski (69GP, 14G, 52A with Prince George and Portland ’17-’18) have been reassigned by the Detroit Red Wings to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Harrison released from AlpsHL team

Forward Ryan Harrison (325GP, 79G, 149A with Prince Albert, Medicine Hat, and Everett ’07-’13) has been released in favour of another player, from his AlpsHL team Gherdeina. Over seven games, Harrison has two assists. Gherdeina was his third team in Europe following stints with Olofstroms IK (Sweden Division 2) and DVTK Jegesmedvek (Slovakia). Harrison won two Kelly Cup Championships (ECHL) with the Colorado Eagles in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Pavlenko sent down in by KHL team

Forward Andrei Pavlenko (78GP, 12G, 18A with Edmonton ’17-’19) has been sent down to Dinamo-Molodechno of the Belarus league by his KHL club, Dinamo Minsk. In three contests with Dinamo Minsk, Pavlenko is pointless.

Kvasnica on the move

Forward Michal Kvasnica (104GP, 17G, 23A with Portland and Vancouver ’18-’20) is headed to the Fassa Falcons of AlpsHL in Italy. Kvasnica played five games with Oril Znojmo of the Czech3 league this season, scoring two goals. The 20-year-old Ostrava, CZE native was the 115th overall selection by the Portland Winterhawks at the 2018 CHL Import Draft.
