Oil Kings ditch radio broadcast
The @TheWHL is no longer requiring teams to have a radio broadcast deal as the @EdmOilKings will only be available to listen through the team website or watching through the WHL site. Is this just a #covid issue or is this how they are going forward?
— Dean Millard ??? (@DuckMillard) February 26, 2021
With teams such as the Portland Winterhawks and Swift Current Broncos giving without a radio broadcast deal a try, the Edmonton Oil Kings are the next team to give it a shot. Oil Kings broadcasts will only be available via the team’s website or on the WHL’s website this season.
Swift Current has since switched back to being on the radio this season. They’ll be on The Eagle 94.1 fm in Swift Current.
