The Moose Jaw Warriors will be looking for a new general manager as Alan Millar has taken on the role of director of player personnel with Hockey Canada’s Program of Excellence. Millar had been the general manager for 10 years.

The Winnipeg ICE announced that they had signed three players to WHL Standard Player Agreements on Monday. Included in the signings are 20-year-old goaltender Carl Stankowski (34GP, 14-12-4, 3.45 GAA, .884sv%), 20-year-old forward Anderson McDonald (196GP, 85G, 57A in the QMJHL), and defenseman Brandt Young. The Prince Albert Raiders have signed forwards Kyle Crosbie (115GP, 12G, 11A with Kelowna and Moose Jaw) and Logan Danis (25GP, 1G, 3A with Winnipeg) to WHL Standard Player Agreements. Crosbie was an eighth round pick of the Rockets in 2016, while Danis was an undrafted signee.

The Saskatoon Blades announced that they have signed 18-year-old forward Josh Paulhus (3GP, 1G, 0A with Regina) to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. Paulhus was a 2017 10th round draft pick of the Seattle Thunderbirds.

Prince Albert Raiders defenseman Kaiden Guhle (137GP, 14G, 44A with Prince Albert) made his professional debut last night with the Laval Rocket of the AHL. Guhle was held pointless and was a -1 in his debut. Guhle is a 2020 first round draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens. He was also a member of the 2018-19 Ed Chynoweth Cup Champion Raiders.

The Edmonton Oil Kings announced their leadership group on Monday. Forward Scott Atkinson (175GP, 30G, 40A) has returned as captain of the team for a second season. Defenseman Matthew Robertson (186GP, 27G, 78A) and forward Jake Neighbours (122GP, 34G, 64A) will be full-time assistant captains while forward Dylan Guenther (home) (66GP, 29G, 34A) and defenseman Ethan Cap (away) (265GP, 15G, 55A) will serve as alternating assistant captains.

The Utica Comets announced that forward Wacey Hamilton (234GP, 61G, 132A with Medicine Hat ’07-’11) has retired from hockey. Hamilton spent the last six seasons with the Comets, wearing an ‘A’ for the last four seasons. Hamilton had yet to play a game this season following 28 games last season. He had four goals and seven assists in that time. Hamilton had never been drafted into the WHL or the NHL.

Forward Riley Woods (230GP, 75G, 105A with Regina and Spokane ’15-’19) has been released from his professional tryout with the Colorado Eagles (AHL). It is believed he will return to the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies. Woods was not drafted into the WHL or the NHL.

Defenseman Dalton Thrower (285GP, 42G, 105A with Saskatoon and Vancouver ’09-’14) has been signed by Boras HC of HockeyEttan in Sweden. Last season Thrower played for the Jacksonville IceMen, hitting 35 games, three goals and five assists. Thrower was a second round draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens in 2012.
