Nachbaur joins Americans as associate coach

Don Nachbaur makes his return to the Western Hockey League and the Tri-City Americans as an associate coach, having previously been the head coach of the Americans from 2003 to 2009. Nachbaur also coached the Seattle Thunderbirds and Spokane Chiefs and sits third on the all-time wins list with 692. Nachbaur has also won the Dunc McCallum award three times as the WHL’s coach of the year.

Ettinger commits to Red Deer College

Defenseman Ty Ettinger (95GP, 3G, 9A with Brandon, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Victoria ’17-’20) has committed to the Red Deer College Kings for the 2021-22 season. Over the last four seasons, Ettinger has also played for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons and the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the AJHL.

Petruic released by Wichita

Forward Chantz Petruic (55GP, 0G, 4A with Moose Jaw ’16-’17) has been released by the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL. Petruic played last season for the Yorkton Terriers of the SJHL where he posted 58 goals and 51 assists in 52 games. While playing for the Thunder this season Petruic scored once and added two assists over 12 games.
