Goaltender Brock Gould (64GP, 14-30-5, 4.05GAA, .880sv% with Victoria and Moose Jaw) has been dealt to the Portland Winterhawks by the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Moose Jaw Warriors received a conditional pick believed to be a 2023 late round selection. As an American born player, Gould was expecting difficulty in getting into Canada, and this move allows Gould to stay stateside and get into some game action.

Defenseman Brett Lernout (205GP, 23G, 43A with Saskatoon and Swift Current ’11-’15) has earned a professional try-out with the Colorado Eagles (AHL). Lernout, a third-round selection of the Montreal Canadiens in 2014, has played 21 NHL games over three seasons. Last season, Lernout played 38 games with the Chicago Wolves, posting two assists.

Defenseman Julius Honka (62GP, 16G, 40A with Swift Current ’13-’14) has been loaned by the Dallas Stars to the Texas Stars. Honka, a first-round draft pick of the Dallas Stars in 2014, has played 87 NHL games, registering two goals and 11 assists. Honka has also played 201 AHL games, scoring 26 times and adding 82 assists. Honka had played nine with the Pelicans of Liiga in Finland this season while on loan, scoring three goals and adding four assists.

Defenseman Trevor Longo (135GP, 11G, 22A with Medicine Hat and Vancouver) has committed to the Queen’s University Gaels Men’s Hockey team. The 20-year-old North Vancouver, BC native was not expected to be part of the Giants roster this season.

Goaltender Taran Kozun (135GP, 64-52-15, 2.73GAA, .912sv% with Kamloops and Seattle ’10-’15) has been acquired by the Orlando Solar Bears, joining his fifth ECHL team this season. Kozun has played one game with each of Kansas City, Pensacola, Indy, and Rapid City. His overall record this season is 1-1-2.
