Zary handed and serves a one-game suspension

Kamloops Blazers forward Connor Zary sat out the second half of a back-to-back with Prince George as he served a one-game suspension for this hit on Prince George’s Taylor Gauthier. He’ll be eligible to return on Wednesday against Spokane.

Americans sign Geraghty 

The Tri-City Americans have officially signed Ronin Geraghty after he made his WHL debut on Friday night as an emergency back-up for Mason Dunsford. The move allowed him to start Saturday’s game against Spokane which the Americans lost 7-2.

ICE recall Pow

The Winnipeg ICE recalled forward Kyle Pow from the BCHL’s Trail Smoke Eaters. Pow has three assists in 38 WHL games with the Kelowna Rockets in his career. He has split this season with the Smoke Eaters and AJHL’s Fort McMurray Oil Barons scoring two goals and adding four assists in 32 games.

Basran returns for RocketsFarren out of the lineup

Kelowna Rockets netminder Roman Basran made his return to the crease for the first time since fighting Kamloops’ Dylan GarandMichael Farren was missing from the lineup for undisclosed reasons.

Bjorklund, Zazula out for Tri-City

Paycen Bjorklund was not in the lineup for the Tri-City Americans after fighting Mason Mannek on Friday night. Luke Zazula was a game-time decision for the second straight game but again did not make it into the lineup.

Blades return to Shugrue to Midget, recall Schneider from Prince Albert

The Saskatoon Blades have returned defenseman Spencer Shugrue to the CSSHL’s Yale Hockey Academy. The Vancouver native has played four games with the Blades this season. The club also recalled Marek Schneider from the SMHL’s Prince Albert Mintos where he’s notched five assists in 29 games this season.

Kuny out for Oil Kings.

Brendan Kuny only played one game with Edmonton on his most recent recall before hitting the injured list with an upper-body injury. Scott Atkinson was also a bit beaten up on Friday but was healthy enough to suit up on Saturday.

Eastman, Schoettler return for Prince George, Krivokrasov out with injury

Blake Eastman was back in Prince George’s lineup after missing a little over a week with an illness. Ryan Schoettler also returned after being scratched on Friday while Nikita Krivokrasov was out of the lineup.

  • Saskatoon’s Kyle Crnkovic played in his 100th WHL game. Riley McKay has now spent 500 minutes sitting in the penalty box while Marek Schneider made his WHL debut.
  • Seattle’s Conner Bruggen-Cate recorded his 100th WHL game.
  • Spokane’s Owen MacNeil potted his first WHL goal.
  • Tri-City’s Ronin Geraghty started his first WHL game.

Vancouver Giants forward Tristen Nielsen was sat down for five minutes and game misconduct for this hit on Mark Liwiski.
