Will Warm suspended for one game

Victoria Royals defenseman Will Warm has been suspended for one game for “accumulation of kneeing penalties”. He will miss Victoria’s first game after the holiday break against the Vancouver Giants and be eligible to return on December 28th against Prince George.

Koffer and Lang returned to WHL

Prince George Cougars forward Filip Koffer and Kamloops Blazers forward Martin Lang have been returned to the WHL meaning they won’t get to play in front of their home country’s fans when the World Juniors open in the Czech Republic on Thursday.

Foote, Hofer lead Canada to pre-tournament victory

Kelowna Rockets forward Nolan Foote tallied two goals and added an assist and Portland Winterhawks goaltender Joel Hofer made eight saves on 10 shots in 28 minutes of action as Canada defeated last year’s tournament champions Finland in World Junior Pre-Tournament action.

Shinkaruk signs in KHL

We didn’t mention this yesterday as there was no Daily Dose, but Hunter Shinkaruk (211 GP, 105 G, 120 A with the Medicine Hat Tigers from 2010-14) has signed in the KHL with the Kunlun Red Star. The former first-round pick of the Vancouver Canucks scored four goals and three assists with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers in 20 games before being released to pursue this opportunity.

Howden on the move in KHL

Quinton Howden (244 GP, 111 G, 128 A with the Moose Jaw Warriors from 2007-12) is on the move in the KHL going from Nizhny Novgorod to Vityaz Podelsk for monetary compensation. The former first-round pick of the Florida Panthers has seven goals and five assists in 36 games this year.

Moilanen gets contract extension in Finland

Sami Moilanen (120 GP, 43 G, 45 A with the Seattle Thunderbirds from 2016-18) has re-signed with Tappara Tampere in Finland through the 2020-21 season. He has four goals and one assist in 32 games this season.

Rakos traded in the Czech Republic

Daniel Rakos (133 GP, 32 G 42 A with the Swift Current Broncos from 2005-2007) has been traded from Hradec Kralove in the Czech Republic to Kometa Born for Jakub Lev. In 28 games this year, Rakos has two goals and five assists.

Maylan signs in Denmark

Justin Maylan (331 GP, 87 G, 167 A with the Prince Albert Raiders from 2007-12) has signed with SonderjyskE Vojens in Denmark six days after being released by the Dundee Stars in Scotland. In 25 games with Dundee, he had five goals and 13 assists.

Pyett off to Romania 

Also missed yesterday due to the lack of a Daily Dose, Logan Pyett (273 GP, 49 G, 137 A with the Regina Pats from 2003-08) has signed with Csikszereda in Romania for the rest of the season. The former seventh-round pick of the Detroit Red Wings requested his release from the Frederikshavn White Hawks in Denmark after recording two assists in 12 games.
