WHL prospects named to USA Hockey rosters

USA Hockey has named the rosters for the 2019 US Under-17 Men’s Select team and the Boy’s Select 15 development camp roster. Named to the Under-17 Men’s Select team include:

  • David Hymovitch (Calgary Hitmen 2018 fourth-round draft pick)

Heathcote traded in VIJHL

Dawson Heathcote who played 27 games in the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers last year, registering two assists, has been traded in the VIJHL by the Nanaimo Buccaneers to the Oceanside Generals for Defenseman Nick Robinson and a Player Development fee.

Blazers Director of Hockey Operations wins Kamloops Golf Championship

Kamloops Blazers Director of Hockey Operations Tim O’Donovan won the Kamloops Golf Club Championship this weekend. O’Donovan has been with the team since the 2012-13 season, first starting as a video coach before moving into his current role last season.

De Leo re-signs with Ducks

Chase De Leo (279 GP, 110 G, 141 A with the Portland Winterhawks) has re-signed with the Anaheim Ducks on a one-year contract. Drafted in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Winnipeg Jets, De Leo has played just three games in the NHL with the Jets and Ducks.

Lipsbergs re-signs with Dinamo Riga

Roberts Lipsbergs (165 GP, 79 G, 67 A with the Seattle Thunderbirds) has re-signed with Dinamo Riga in the KHL for the 2019-20 season. Lipsbergs has been with Dinamo Riga since the 2016-17 season after spending one season in the ECHL.
