WHL hands out discipline to Pats and Warriors

The WHL has handed out four suspensions as a result of a kerfuffle at the end of Tuesday’s Moose Jaw-Regina game. Moose Jaw defenseman Daemon Hunt has been suspended for two games while defenseman Nolan Jones was handed a three-game suspension. The team was also fined $2,000. On the Regina side, forward Carter Chorney will sit out three games while forward Robbie Holmes will be out for four games. The team has also been fined $1,500.

Fiddler-Schultz released from the hospital

Calgary Hitmen forward Riley Fiddler-Schultz was taken to hospital following a hit on Wednesday night in a game against the Saskatoon Blades. He has been released from the hospital and is returning to Calgary to recovery from the injury. He is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury.

Ice recall Bertholet

The Winnipeg ICE recalled forward Chase Bertholet from the Prince Albert Mintos. Bertholet has played six games with the ICE this season and has not recorded a point.

Blades recall 2019 first-round pick for the rest of the season 

The Saskatoon Blades have recalled forward Brandon Lisowsky for the weekend. He will be returned to his team for the CSSHL championships. Drafted in the first round of the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft, Lisowsky had seven goals and 12 assists in 13 games with Burnaby Winter Club Prep.

Warriors recall Mirwald for the remainder of the season

The Moose Jaw Warriors have recalled SMAAAHL Goaltec Goalie MVP Brett Mirwald for the rest of the season. In 31 games with the Saskatoon Blazers this season, he posted a 22-7 record with a 2.15 GAA and .920 save percentage. The 2003-born netminder was drafted by the Warriors in the seventh round of the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

Wheat Kings announce playoff ticket details and 2020/21 season ticket details

The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that playoff tickets are now on sale as well as details for season tickets for the 2020/21 season.

Fans have until March 16th to renew their season tickets and purchase their playoff package in order to receive next year’s tickets at this year’s price. Although season ticket prices will not be increasing next season, the Keystone Centre has announced a new facility fee on all season tickets to be paid to the complex. The team also announced that all fans who take advantage of this opportunity will receive free tickets to the first two playoff games this season. Any fan who purchases their playoff package by March 16 will also be eligible for a $4 discount regardless of if they plan to renew their season tickets for next season.

The team also announced that if they do not clinch home-ice advantage for the first round, the team will play their first-round home games in Virden as Westoba Place will be unavailable due to the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair.

The Winnipeg ICE will be wearing these baby blue jerseys on Saturday night for their WHL Suits Up to Support Organ Donation Night.

WHL accepting registration for two additional U.S. development combines

The WHL is now accepting registration for two additional U.S. Development Combines to take place over the next couple of months. The first combine will take place from May 1-3 in Denver, Colorado and the second one is scheduled for June 19-21 in Dallas, Texas. These two combines are in addition to the combines scheduled to take place in Anaheim, California from April 17-19 and Las Vegas, Nevada from April 24-26.
